All submissions to Inte Cinema Festival are handled through FilmFreeway, the platform we use to receive, watch and track every film. It's the only way to enter — there is no separate submission form on this site — and it keeps the whole process in one place, from your first upload to our notification.
Entry fees for each category and deadline are listed on our FilmFreeway page, which always shows the current rate. Create a project on FilmFreeway, upload your short, and submit it to Inte Cinema Festival before the deadline that suits you. If your film is good, we want a Roman audience to see it — the platform simply makes sure it reaches us.
Entries are accepted only through FilmFreeway. Current fees for every category and deadline are shown there.
We place no cap on runtime and no restriction on subject. Bring us the film you actually wanted to make.
Selected films screen in Rome before a seated audience — and their directors are invited to the conversation afterward.
Submit to any one category — or across several. Only one film per director can ultimately be selected, but you're welcome to enter more than one for consideration.
Narrative shorts of any length. Story, performance, world — whatever fiction means to you.
Non-fiction shorts. Portrait, essay, observation — the real, captured and shaped.
Any technique. Hand-drawn, stop-motion, digital, mixed — animation in the broadest sense.
Work that bends the form. Non-narrative, visual, sonic — cinema testing its own edges.
Submit any time between opening and the late deadline. Films are watched by the selection team on a rolling basis, and everyone who submits hears from us at notification.

Once your film is chosen for the programme, we'll send delivery instructions and ask you to prepare a few things so we can present your work well and place it in the festival catalogue.

Entry fees vary by category and deadline, and the current rates are always listed on our FilmFreeway page. Submitting earlier generally costs less than waiting for the late deadline, so it's worth entering as soon as your film is ready.
Every submitted film is watched by our selection team. We look for work that will hold a room and reward a live audience. Selected films form the official programme for the edition, and all submitters are notified of the outcome in June 2027, whether selected or not.
Any language. If your film is not in Italian or English, it must carry Italian or English subtitles. Films with no spoken dialogue don't need subtitles at all.
Selected films must be supplied as a .mov file (H.264 or Apple ProRes) or as a DCP. You submit through FilmFreeway first; delivery details are sent only after selection.
Yes. You may submit several films for consideration. However, a maximum of one film per director will be selected for the final programme.
No — attendance is not required for selection or to win. But we warmly encourage it. The conversations after each screening are the heart of the festival, and directors who attend consistently tell us it was the most valuable part.
Selected shorts screen across a series of intimate evening soirées in Rome. Films play to a seated, engaged audience, and attending filmmakers join a moderated conversation afterward. Awards are presented at the close of the edition.
Winners are chosen by the festival jury, a small panel drawn from filmmakers, critics and the cultural association. The jury's decision is final. The jury for each edition is announced ahead of the awards.
We read the category generously. Experimental work is film that steps outside conventional narrative and documentary form — non-linear, purely visual or sonic, structural, essayistic or hybrid. If your film doesn't sit comfortably in the other three categories, it likely belongs here.
Films must have been produced after January 2024. Prior festival screenings are fine — we don't require a premiere. Just tell us where the film has already played when you submit.
